The two-day basic course (consecutive days) Working with Independent Respiratory Protection (breathing valve) is intended for employees who need to be able to use compressed air with a breathing valve on a petrochemical industrial site. This applies to both the breathing apparatus and air network systems (fixed and mobile). In this training, the participant learns which breathing protection equipment is available, how a breathing apparatus and the multi-hour connection (also called living air) work and how they can safely carry out work with it.
The basic Independent Breathing Protection training consists of a theoretical and a practical part.
Theory consists:
- Respiratory protection general
- Self-contained breathing apparatus
- The hose apparatus
- Selection of respiratory protective equipment
- Working in confined spaces
- Inspection and daily maintenance
- Safety Measure
Practice consists:
- Safe use and connection of the equipment
- Various practical exercises on the breathing air training
This training is a basic training, which is intended for people who have not worked with independent breathing protection before, or do not (anymore) have a valid independent breathing protection diploma
This course can be conducted in more languages; English, German, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian and Dutch,
What are the admission requirements:
- Minimum age 18 Years
- Valid Breathing or Compressed Air Examination
- Participants must have a clean shaven face during the course. If you are not clean shaven you may be excluded from participating in the exam, due to the face mask not fitting correcting on the face
What you need to take for the training:
- Valid Identification
- Passport
- Driving Licence (Photo)
- Identity card
- Valid Medical Certificate
- Personal Protective Equipment (work clothes, safety shoes, helmet and gloves)
Is a medical examination necessary to perform the work – YES; the certificate Safe Working with Independent Respiratory Protection is only valid in combination with a valid medical certificate from one of the inspections below.
